I am a PhD student working at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University. Here you will find information about my research and teaching as well as some blog postings.

CV
Velupillai is a PhD student at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences at Stockholm University since April 2007. She defended her Licentiate Thesis on the 6th of October, 2009. Velupillai is also affiliated with the Swedish National Graduate School of Language Technology (GSLT). Velupillai has a background in Computational Linguistics
and specializes on research covering both Language Technology, Information Access and Health Informatics. During her PhD programme, she has participated in several projects: TvärSök – Tvärspråklig sökning, KEA – KunskapExtraktionsAgent – Klustring av nyhetstexter och patientjournaler and HEXAnord – HEalth teXt Analysis network in the Nordic and Baltic countries. She has also participated in the organization of the workshop Louhi’10 – Second Louhi Workshop on Text and Data Mining of Health Documents, held in conjunction with NAACL-HLT in Los Angeles, U.S, in June 2010.
